Summary

This is just an overview, not a review. We did not test the Elevon 2 yet.
The Hoka One One Elevon 2 sits at the premium end of the Hoka Fly collection, and offers the most cushioning in the range. This range also includes the Mach and Cavu running shoes, and is and is Hoka's most lightweight range. The Elevon 2 is a firm, versatile, responsive running shoe.

As with all Hoka running shoes, the Elevon 2 contains a Meta-rocker midsole. This gives a low heel-toe differential, and teamed with the sculptured outsole, aids a guided running gait cycle to keep you going mile after mile. The early stage Meta-rocker in the Elevon 2 is designed to give a smooth ride, faster transitions and is great for speed work.

The Elevon 2 has a super modern look with a characteristically chunky heel and large heel tab. This plastic tab wraps around to give a secure feel on the foot.

The ProFLY midsole consists of two different density foams at the forefoot and under the heel. The forefoot foam is firmer, to give an explosive toe off, and heel is softer to cushion the landing of the foot. The outsole consist of EVA foam and crystal rubber for durability.

The upper is thin, breathable and has a little padding around the heel for comfort. An asymmetrical tongue adds to the snug and secure fit of the Elevon 2. Compared to other maximally cushioned shoes, the Elevon 2 fits much more stable and securely, which is also down to the TPU heel clip.

Who is it for?

If you're looking for a stable, but maximally cushioned shoe (a rare find) the Elevon 2 is for you. It's great for everyday work, and also uptempo runs and will see you through many miles of training and racing. A big hit amongst heel-strikers!
